We are excited to announce important new developments with the INS LifeGuardian® app. The INS LifeGuardian® app is a unique offering that enables us to support those who want to live independent, active lives.
The INS LifeGuardian® app allows you to turn your smartphone into a mobile alarm for
medical or safety-related emergencies. Pressing the HELP button on the app connects you to a nurse in our 24/7 Emergency Response Centre.
The app also comes with a wide range of other features including audio and video call capabilities, medication reminders, geofence alarms, vital sign recording and monitoring, and so much more - making it an indispensable tool for seniors, carers, and retirement villages.
Currently, anyone can download the INS LifeGuardian® app and try it for free for one month. This means that users can send emergency alarms, record and monitor their vital signs, and enjoy the app’s many other features completely for FREE for one month. But once the trial period ends, users will no longer be able to use the app or any of its features unless they pay a monthly monitoring fee. That has changed.
In an effort to make our care more accessible to all, we’ve decided to make many of the app’s features available even if users choose NOT to subscribe to our professional monitoring service.
Once the free trial expires, the emergency alarm button will be greyed out and the geofence alarm feature will also be disabled. If the user tries to use any paid features after the free trial, they will get a prompt that a subscription is required to use that feature.
Most of the other features will remain functional on the app – along with some exciting new ones that are currently still in development.
Basically MOST features of the app (and many new ones) will still work after the free trial, EXCEPT for the emergency alarms and geofence alarms. Personal alarm monitoring can be enabled for a small monthly monitoring fee.
This is a big shift in how we’re making the app available, and we believe it will greatly increase the number of people who can benefit from it – especially those who live in retirement villages.
We are confident that this new scheme will help village managers who want to provide their residents with the best possible care and service, but may not have the budget to do so. It’s a cost-effective way to keep a village connected and its residents happy and safe.

INS CareCall supplies and monitors emergency response equipment and services, including hardware manufactured by Chiptech, Smart-Caller, SmartLink, and the LifeGuard L-Series Diallers.
Monitoring of alarms is provided through INS LifeGuard's unique Emergency Response Centre, which is the only personal alarm response centre staffed by qualified nurses. This is an important distinction.
