Whether one lives independently, works alone, cares for a loved one, or is frequently on the move, having a reliable safety system is essential. The INS LifeGuardian® Safety Check-In Feature provides automated well-being checks, real-time alerts, and 24/7 access to healthcare professionals, ensuring peace of mind for individuals, families, caregivers, and employers.
The Safety Check-In Feature is a proactive monitoring system that requires users to check in at scheduled intervals to confirm their well-being. The system automatically triggers an alert if a check-in is missed, notifying caregivers, family members, or the INS LifeGuard call centre.
You can begin a Check-In Session by selecting a reason, such as Working Alone, Walking Alone, or Hiking, or by creating a custom reason that fits your situation.
Choose how often you want to check-in. Options range from every 30 minutes to every 4 hours. You can also set the final check-in time for the session.
Once the session has started, confirm your well-being by clicking the “I’m Okay” button inside the INS LifeGuardian® App or through the notification prompt.
During the initial setup, select an escalation process that can be modified later. Then, choose who is contacted and how—via SMS, the INS LifeGuardian Connect® App, or by sending an alarm to the LifeGuard Nurses.
A 5–10-minute countdown begins if a check-in interval ends without confirmation. Your phone will vibrate and sound an alert, which you can adjust. If you do not check in before the countdown ends, the escalation process begins based on your settings.
You can end a session anytime by clicking the “End” button on the Check-In screen. The session will end automatically if an alarm is triggered and sent to INS LifeGuard.
The INS LifeGuardian Connect® App is a free companion app designed for family members, caregivers, and emergency contacts to stay connected with users of the INS LifeGuardian® system. It enables real-time alerts, location tracking, and instant notifications in case of a missed check-in or emergency.
