INS LifeGuard provides lone workers and those working in isolated environments with a suite of personal duress alarms to choose from. These include the INS LifeGuardian® and LifeGuard SmartTracker, each comes with a built-in GPS locator for maximum lone worker safety.


Our response centre is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The GPS locator within our duress alarms ensures that in an emergency we’ll be able to locate you, speak to you, and send assistance, even if you can’t respond.

How It Works?

INS LifeGuard personal alarms and nurse call systems allow seniors to live more independent and active lives, knowing that aid is available at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Step 1


Press the Button to Trigger an Alarm

In the event of an emergency, press the button on your personal alarm system. We can also supply a Fall Sensor that automatically triggers an alarm when a fall is detected.

Step 2


Communicate with our INS Nurse

An alarm is sent to a nurse in our emergency response centre, who has access to your personal details and medical history. The nurse will call out to you over a two-way speaker on your emergency unit. You need not be near the unit to be heard.

Step 3


Assistance Arranged

The nurse will assess the situation and send whatever help is required – whether that be your emergency contacts (family member, neighbour, or friend), or emergency services.

Step 4


Dispatched Help if Necessary

If the nurse is unable to make voice contact, an ambulance will be dispatched to your location. No matter what the situation, rest assured help is on the way.

With the simple press of a button, you’re in contact with an experienced nurse. The nurse can speak with you via speakerphone and assess the situation. This duress alarm comes with a built-in GPS locator that ensures we’ll be able to locate you in an emergency and send help — even if you are not able to respond. It is a stylish pendant that works using the same cellular phone technology as a mobile phone, but without the complicated features. In addition to being a personal alarm, it also functions as a fall detector, and has a docking station for easy charging.


If you prefer, you can choose self-monitoring to let your family friends or carer monitor the LifeGuard SmartTracker rather than our nurses.

    Duress alarms are designed to provide users with a way to summon help in an emergency, whether they are at home or out and about. They can be used if you feel threatened or unsafe, if you have fallen and need assistance, or if you are experiencing a medical emergency.


    For these reasons, a duress alarm is considered a must-have device for lone workers or staff who are stationed in isolated environments.

    INS LifeGuard's duress alarms for lone worker safety are available in wearable and portable formats. Our duress alarms can help users stay safe by giving them a quick and easy way to summon help in an emergency situation. If you work alone, or if you are assigned to a location where there's no one else close by most of the time, a duress alarm from LifeGuard can give you peace of mind knowing that there is a way to get help if you need it.

    This personal duress alarm system, which can also be worn as a pendant, comes with a fall detector. If you fall and are unable to press the duress button on your pendant, the fall detector will automatically activate the alarm.


    INS LifeGuardian® App

    This app lets you turn your smartphone into a duress alarm. It also features a built-in GPS locator that ensures we'll be able to locate you should there be a need to do so.


    When the alarm is activated in any of LifeGuard's personal duress alarms, it will send a duress alert to our emergency response centre, which will assess the situation and determine if it's necessary to dispatch emergency services to your location.


    Here’s a detailed look at how our duress alarms work:

    1. In the event of an emergency, press the button on your mobile personal alarm or transmitter.
    2. An alarm is sent to a nurse in our emergency response centre, who has access to your personal details and medical history. The nurse will call out to you over a two-way speaker on your emergency unit. * You need not be near the unit to be heard.
    3. The nurse will assess the situation and send whatever help is required – whether that be contacting a family member, neighbour, friend, or emergency services.
